The Sweat Shop, located in Albany, NY, is a popular fitness and wellness facility offering classes, a gym, personal training, and a pioneering form of wellness counseling called "Lifestyle Therapy." Prior to developing the site, a lot of time was spent discussing the goals and expectations for the site. The color scheme was at the request of the client, to represent spirituality, and we chose to follow the "Mind/Body/Spirit" concept that encompasses all that the Sweat Shop is, in the choice of photos. We decided that the home page would be the umbrella for three distinct subsections: the facility and fitness programming, information on personal training & trainers, and a way for the Lifestyle Therapy to be promoted. Each section has a complimentary color of its own to further indicate location.

I proposed that an "interactive" schedule for the class programming be developed which would be available 24/7, and allow clients to see at a glance what classes are offered in which time slots, who the instructor is, and then click on the class link to jump to a description. Likewise, a client can go to an index of class types, choose one which is for them, and easily see when the class is offered. Another feature is that the schedule is available for download and printing in PDF format.

Another customer-oriented feature of the site is the guest book, which gathers information from Sweat Shop clientele, such as feedback about the facility and programming, suggestions for the web site, and requests for more information.
