Fairies from Turtle's Web

My fairy sculptures are made from polymer clay, specifically Sculpey III. Every fairy is made by hand, entirely out of Sculpey - the clay is already colored and I mix my own unique colors too, so there is no painting involved. The legs are reinforced with wire, as are any other fragile parts. They aren't toys - they are unique collectible sculptures - drop them and they won't be happy! The fairies are glazed and sit on any 90 degree edge, when they aren't sitting on a stump. They have pretty wings made out of an irridescent cellophane material.

I call them fairies because they have wings - but to be honest, they also have ears like elves and noses like trolls (or, perhaps, my Polish uncles), because that's how I imagined them to look. Each fairy is custom made, and they all have their own personalities. They are very colorful in appearance, dressed up pretty with fancy hair styles - the girls are quite lady-like as you will see! They look very cute everywhere they sit, because they are so small (2-3 inches high), and until I find homes for them, they are perching on flower pot edges, sitting on bookshelves, hanging out on computer hardware... there is something magical about having all these little faces peeking out all day, or forget where one is and then find it unexpectedly :)

Good news! I am developing fairies to sell through the web - If you have a shop selling unique handmade crafts and would like to buy some fairies to resell, or are interested in purchasing a fairy for yourself, drop me a note and I'll add you to my mailing list so you'll know when the new site launches!

My first sculpture (left) was an elf, not a fairy... and after lots of experimenting, this Christmas fairy (right) settled for me what my fairy faces would look like. The rest were born shortly after... First one I did with this "look"

These fairies were designed for Valentines Day at the Old Chatham Country store (now closed) along with the flock of flower fairies pictured above
